The Delio of Life, According To My Phone

Here are some extra tid bits that have been going on with the Tappana clan lately.
I am super jealous of my daughters beautiful long eyelashes. Seriously, why don't I have those? Abby has been a little sick lately, so we have been feeding her a lot of otter pops and she LOVES them. She fell asleep snuggling her tiny doll that Mel gave her. She is always squeezing it and giving it kisses eating its head.
The after party loopies kicked in and while cleaning up, and me and Sam got into a cake fight, that I started, and he won. An example of Abby eating Tiny's head, and feeling forgotten and sad the day of her party as we were trying to get everything ready, thus ignoring her just a bit. If only she knew we were doing her a favor! (by the way she acted later that night it was no favor to her!)
Spontaneous late night date eating Del Taco while watching How I Met Your Mother, (much needed mind you)I can't vacuum anymore around Abby, seeing as she is terrified of it, and Abby showing off her sun-kissed cheeks and cute glasses after camping.
Abby having fun with her Uncle DJ on the 24th. Drinking what I thought would be her last bottle ever. Turns out that is harder to break than I thought and she refuses to drink whole milk from her sippy cup. (but at least it was her last bottle of formula ever) My cold ma and pa during our last night of camping, and my cold bundled up sleeping baby, before she had to climb into Sams sleeping bag for the rest of the night.
Lastly, Abby falling asleep in her highchair, the only way I could keep her entertained while I ran was to put her in her high chair with cheerios and turn on Sesame Street (notice the cheerios in the ground she had fun throwing), and sleeping with her bum in the air.

Life is sweet.

The Birthdays.

Abby's first birthday was a pretty good one, chill and relaxing. We were in the mountains camping when she turned one. After a fun day of playing with her 'cussins' and a delicious meal of dutch oven chicken and potatoes, all my family gathered around her to sing her Happy Birthday and to enjoy her cupcake, which she ate like a champ. She grabbed that cupcake with her dainty little fingers and ate away.

Thanks Emily, for the wonderful photos!

We had her actual birthday party this past Saturday, the 28th. My sister was nice enough to share her birthday with Abby. I was a little big time stressed because you see, I am not an organized person and I don't plan things very well. But despite that, I think the party was a hit. Especially seeing as we went through 72 hot dogs.
When it came time for cake however, Abby was done for the night and wouldn't even eat just a bite. Oh well. It's her party. She can cry if she wants to.
Thank you everyone who came and shared Abby's big day with her!

A Little Walk Down Memory Lane

I know Abby has been one for almost a week now, and I would have done all these updates last weekend, had I not been out of town. Since coming back, life has been crazy. Being home sick today is allowing me to play catch up again, seeing as I haven't done much else besides watch episode after episode of Pretty Little Liars, chang 3 poopy diapers, and lots of cuddle time in between. (Abby is a touch sick as well, but it has been so nice cuddling all morning long.) So while she is distracted, here are some pictures of the past year of her to enjoy.

I can't believe how much my little girl has changed over this year, and I can't believe how quickly it happened. At 12 months she has such a personality! She gives the best hugs and kisses, says mama, dada, papa, eat, and all sorts of other babbles. She waves, folds her arms, walks really well while holding both of someones hands, but drops right to the floor as soon as we let go. She is a speed crawler and has discovered how to go outside the doors at my morning aerobics class. She is afraid of her walker toys, and the vacuum. She now knows how to throw fits, like on the floor on her belly kicking type of fits (isn't that a two year old thing?) She eats practically anything. She won't drink her milk out of sippy cups (in fact, she isn't drinking from sippy cups at all right now.) but loves vitamin D milk. She is such a busy girl, always digging in things like laundry, dirt, or whatever else she can get her little hands on.

I still look at her and can't believe she is mine. She is part of me, all mine forever. I love you Abbigale,  more than words can describe.

Camping and the 24th.

Attention readers (all 4 of you): get ready for a ton of blog posts coming your way. A ton has been going on lately with our little family, so a ton of blogs are about to come you way. I know. You are thrilled.

To start, this past weekend we went camping with my family to the Spruces up Big Cottonwood Canyon. This has been a tradition for us to go up over the 24th since about 2002. The last 2 years however, we weren't able to go, so I was super excited for it this year.

Abby enjoyed it too, especially when her cousins played with her and shared their toys with her.

So to sum it up, enjoy some highlights and some lowlights of our trip.

Day 1 Highlights: Finally getting up to the big mountain air, roasting hot dogs over the fire, enjoying time with just my siblings as we laughed late into the night, over said fire.

Day 1 Lowlights: Our air mattress had a hole in it, therefore making us sleep on the rocks under our tent. Not only did we sleep on the hard ground, but we also forgot our pillows. Thankfully my cute niece and nephew loaned us their pillows and they used there pillow pets. But alas, we both didn't sleep very well. We also realized we forgot a whole bunch of other necessary camping things. Thank goodness for family who helped us out.

Day 2 Highlights: Lazing around all day reading, celebrating Abby's 1st bday, (separate blog post to come) my parents coming up and saving us with our pillows and a new air mattress, therefore both sleeping like babies that night, and delicious dutch oven chicken and potatoes, and peach cobbler for dessert.

Day 2 Lowlights: Falling down as I was carrying my lunch to the table, trying to get back up from said fall, and falling again spilling my lunch and stubbing my toe. One of my nieces reminding me that flip flops weren't for the mountains and that is why I fell, and losing terribly at the "how many cars will pass til grammy and papa get here" game we all played.

Day 3 Highlights: Again, lazing around all day, reading, talking, laughing. Watching Abby get filthy as she crawled around playing in the dirt. Going on a mini hike with my brothers, Ali, and nieces and nephews, and a Sundee afternoon nap with Sam and Abby in our tent.

Day 3 Lowlights: The dang Pot Bellies nibbling through my bag and finishing off my Muddy Buddies, Abby had her first real throw up...chunkage all down her jammies (the only pair I brought) and even worse than that, the drunk people that were on a company retreat and kept me up til about 4am. Seriously, they were shooting airsoft guns, yelling, laughing, HOWLING AT THE MOON, running everywhere. I called the cops. Don't you worry.

Day 4 Highlights: Giving Abby a bath she didn't love but she looked adorable while having it. (she smelled like puke.) And running for cover when a huge rainstorm hit us hard. It was cozy and beautiful.

Day 4 Lowlights: Realizing that the rain got all of Abby's bedding wet, and made our last night of sleeping there really cold. Abby slept with daddy all night because she wouldn't sleep in her cold pack-n-play.

Day 5 Highlights: Showering after 4 days, a LONG afternoon nap on our couch in front of Thor, and a BBQ and fireworks last night with the Tappana side. Abby falling asleep during the fireworks and not even flinching at the loud ones.

Day 5 Lowlights: Unpacking, cleaning up, laundry, and getting back into the normal swing of things.

Good trip all in all I'd say.

I sure do love my family. Both sides.

365 Days

365 days ago, at exactly 12:34 pm, Sam and my life changed forever. Little Abbigale Mae Tappana was born, and was absolutely perfect in every way.

This past year has been the hardest, most exhausting, challenging, rewarding, amazing year of our lives. Abby has brought us so much happiness and love to our home. I still can't believe she is all ours, forever.

Happy Birthday beautiful baby girl. We love you so, so much.

Abby's new trick

Sunday's lesson in primary was about reverence. Abby must have really been paying attention, because she just started doing this on her own.
Now isn't that just about one of the most adorable things you have ever seen? I think so.

Happy Wednesday!

Abby's free slurpee

Admiring herself in the mirror at the mall.

Refusing to look at me to take her picture.
