Two Weeks

Tuesday, Madalyn had her two week appointment. She is a very healthy baby. She weighs 8.8 pounds (64%) and is 21.75 inches long. (91%).

Maddi is a pretty good baby. She eats and sleeps really well. When she does wake up to eat at night, she will eat and go right back to sleep. Thank goodness! I don't think it will be long before she sleeps through the night.

Being a mother of two has taken some adjusting. While Maddi is a really good baby, and Abby of course is a good big sister, it has taken getting used to simply trying to take care of two kids. Running errands is especially exhausting and it takes twice as long trying to wrangle two babies. Sam has now started full time school as well as full time work, so needless to say we have a lot of long days together, just the three of us. It has taken me a while getting used to balancing everything. I too am in school, so I am trying to do that on top of being a mother and a housewife. The thing that is suffering the most right now, besides my glorious sleep, is my house. Seriously, it is a disaster zone. I don't know how moms have spotless houses. I know it's just something that takes time and learning how to balance but please, until then, hows about someone come and clean my house for me?

I am enjoying my new family of four. Its amazing to me how Sam and I have made two girls, but they are two different girls. I don't have two Abbigales. I have an Abbigale and a Madalyn. Does that even make sense or am I rambling like a tired bumlbling idiot?

I seriously feel like the most blessed mommy in the world. I love my babies so much! I can't wait until they are older and they become the best of friends. Abby already can't give Maddi enough hugs, kisses, and smothers.

Oh and don't worry. I have only gotten dumber since giving birth. The things I've said lately, would amaze you.

  1. You aren't dumber, just adjusting. :) I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that struggled moving from one to two. You'll get the hang of it and will love having two that can play together.

  2. Oh my heck. You're going to school too?!? Ok, I thought it was hard just adjusting to home life again. I know I could not have done school on top of it all. You must be wonder woman! And don't worry. My house is a disaster too. And someone always, inevitably knocks on my door when it's at its worst. But I'm slowly getting better at taking care of the mess. And you will too. :)
