Madalyns Hopsital Adventure, Pt 1

Remember this post where i talked all about how Madalyn was all better? Yeah, talk about jinxing myself. Madalyn was doing so good and I was so happy and so relieved, until that Friday (June 26th.)

Disclaimer: The pictures you are about to see are super sad. I warned you. :)

The day started out normal. She woke up happy and I was once again relieved that no throw up happened that night. About an hour later she started to act down and kept crying. I thought she was hungry so I kept trying to see if she wanted food, but she wouldn't eat. She just kept crying and whimpering and I didn't know what to do. Finally, she threw up. She seemed better a little bit after that, and I was able to put her down for a nap.
Don't mind my face...or the messy house. Obviously I was worried about other things this day.

After her nap, things just got worse. She just kept throwing up and eventually stopped eating and drinking all together. Sam, thank goodness, didn't have work that night so we stayed in and tried to figure out what to do. She threw up a few more times before bed, but went to sleep fast that night. At about 4:30am she woke up again puking. Sam got up with her and tried to get her to calm down. She wouldn't let him sit. He took her on a drive, paced outside with her, tried turning on curious george, nothing. Then her puke turned green and after 2 or 3 bright green bile pukes, we knew we had to take her to the hospital. At this point Sam and I were both a wreck. Sam isn't a very emotional guy, and even he couldn't hold back the tears. Abby was pretty concerned about Madayn, but she still didn't quite understand all that was happening.  My sister was heading to the mountains for the day to play and offered to take Abby. I was so releived knowing that she was going to be out having the most fun day of her life and she didn't have to worry about her little sister.

We decided to go straight to Primary Childrens hospital, knowing she would get the best care she could get there. She dozed on the way up, but other than that, she was lethargic and sad, and it was so hard. She is never like that! They hooked her up to an IV almost immediately seeing as she was so dehydrated, and ran some tests, blood and urine. And we waited. And waited. And waited. Later that day she had an X-Ray, but no answers were coming yet. They suggested we stay the night to keep a better eye on her. Seeing as she had thrown up a few more times, we were more than happy to stay. We moved to the RTU and that night she had a stool sample taken.

Poor little girl hated the nurses. She would cry and cry any time one would come in, even if they weren't touching her. Can't blame her. They poked her with needles, stuck up a catheder to get a urine sample, and pinned her down to an xray table. So rude right? Haha.

I went home that night to sleep and Sam stayed. Abby was going to sleep over at aunt Chelseas, but she got homesick and I picked her up. I was ok with that. I was sad and needed her light to comfort me. Even though she was asleep the whole time, I had her sleep in my bed with me and she just made me feel better.

Stay tuned for part 2 later this week.

Life Lately

Ah life! Its been full of fun lately. Here is what has been happening.
Life lately has been going to a Bees game for daddy's work, and trying to get this picture. Madalyn wasn't having it, Abby was just pulling a face. Its also been Abby's balloon hair she insisted on getting. Life has also been finding Madalyn like this in the morning, and its been a picture where she looks far too grown up. Bye bye baby Madalyn. Hello Toddler. I guess that is expected at almost 2.
Life lately has been both girls in the bathroom...you know what they say. Sisters that poop together, stay together. Its been silly Madalyn acrobats on the chair while watching Curious George. Its been adorable little girls being adorable and sharing, and its been a wonderful date night seeing Jurassic World, a Caitlin approved movie.
Lately, life has been a sick little baby and feeling helpless as her mama. Its been knowing Sam was leaving to scout camp the next day and still having to worry about my little human. Its been a pajama movie night while daddy was away, and its been having a blast at bath time together. Nothing makes my heart happier than hearing these two squealing in delight together. Abby sure knows how to make Madalyn laugh.
Life lately has been the best daddy ever making play-doh dresses with Abby. Its been a fun night BBQing and playing at a park in Salt Lake. Its been Madalyn throwing a fit and Abby trying to help, and its been an adorable picture of Abby on Fathers Day when she climbed into our bed about 6:30am and fell back to sleep with daddy.
Life lately has been one happy girl, and one grumpy girl. Its been a quick date night to the temple to do some initiatory with this handsome guy (even with that creeper stash). Its been loving this girls messy hair and profile, and its been Abbigale and Madalyn camped out on the floor as I showered. No privacy ever these days.
And lastly, life has been just a cute picture of my girls laying around. Its been Madalyn at her happy place on the dino's. Its been Madalyn begging daddy for some peanut butter instead of dinner, and its been a silly 3 year old who ate a bunch of starbursts, and then proceeded to spin a bunch of circles resulting in thinking she was going to vomit. Honestly, it ruined her whole night. Its just a rite of passage to get that way. Everyone must experience it, and she did last night. Silly girl.

Update! Update! Read all about it!

Long time no blog once again. My blogging groove is just gone and I need it back. I need to supply the people with what they want! :) So, I decided to start out once again my hopefully normal blogging routine, I just thought I would update everyone on the happenings of our family. Because I KNOW you are all dying.

Sam is working hard. Really, he is gone far to much for my liking between two jobs and young men's, however I am also happy that he is willing to put his family first and provide for us and that he magnifies his calling. And when he is home, he doesn't hesitate to help out even though sometimes he may just want to sit. I really married a keeper.

I am trying to stay on top of the household work and help raise my cuties. I've decided to stop Beachbody for a while too. I'm just not a sales person. I wish I was. I wish the business worked for me and that I was making my money so Sam could be home more, but it just wasn't happening. I believed it would for so long, but there came a time where I just had to stop. Maybe when we get more financially secure I can start buying the Shakeology every month again because that stuff is amazing, but for now it was doing more damage on our finances than I was making money for. :( However, I feel really good about that decision and hope I can still inspire people to live a healthy active lifestyle!

Abby is just being cute little Abby. She turns 4 in less than a month and a day doesn't go by that she doesn't give me a list of presents she wants. She is smart as a whip and missing preschool. Every day she asks if its time to go back. She is getting a bit bored and I have to step up my game to make the days a little more fun around these parts! What are some fun things you do that doesn't involve going out in the heat of the day?

Madayn is doing better. For almost 4 weeks she was vomiting and had diarrhea on and off. I would think she was getting better and another bout would start. She would eat hardly anything. Well, all the prayers, fathers blessings, temple prayer roll, and fasting seems to have worked. She has stopped throwing up, even last night when I didn't give her any zofran! She won't stop eating (she is still the pickiest eater I know, but she is back to eating her normal foods that she wouldn't touch before) and she had her first real poo yesterday. I know. I'm talking about poo on the blog but I can't tell you how happy it made me!!  She is happy and the dark circles around her eyes are fading more every day!!  I didn't realize until yesterday how stressed and worried this made me until I was actually relaxed and playing more with the girls. Madalyn, don't ever do that to mommy again!! Other than that, she is a typical girl. She is following in her sisters footsteps and loves everything princess. She puts on dress ups, gets excited when she sees a princess or we watch a princess movie, and loves when I put her in a dress to wear that day. (in fact, a lot of time she fights me when I try to put shorts on her) She doesn't hesitate to spin around to show me her pretty dresses.

I just love my cute little family!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Ah!! This past weekend was fantastic! Sam was able to get off work at 1 on Friday. He worked until past midnight the night before, so he came home and we all napped until about 3:30. We didn't do much that night, except a fancy dinner at Costco and a Target run, followed by Abby requesting Mrs. Doubtfire for movie night.

The next morning we all slept in and then met my parents and Erik and Ali at Village Inn for breakfast. We missed the whole family, but at the same time it was kinda nice being able to chat to everyone! Afterwards, we ran a few more errands and then relaxed until Sam had to go to work. While he was at work, me and the girls went back to my parents house to play in the playhouse.

Sunday was low key, full of church, my sharing time lesson, naps, and that night we had a family dinner at Sams parents. Sams half brother Wes was there to join us, so that was fun!

The Monday of Memorial Day, we usually have an early morning breakfast, but due to weather and half the family being gone, we bagged it. I was pretty bummed and missed the mountains, but we had our own fun. We had a picnic at the Jordan River Parkway and played there for a few hours before Sam, yet again, had to go to work. It ended up being a beautiful day and we all got a little bit of sun (which hasn't been happening in May here) I ended the night back at my parents for some hot dogs and hamburgers.

It was a nice relaxing family weekend. Thank you to all those who have served our country!!

Currently

Wow so, remember when I was going to keep up this blog better and clear back in February I was going to start a new segment called "currently." Well don't you fret, because here it is!

Loving: Being home with my girls everyday! Its hard for Sam to work two jobs, but slowly and surely it won't be long before he can quit thanks to Beachbody. But seriously, we are all much happier the past 4 months I've been home!!

Reading/watching: I was reading The Revenge of Seven, but after renewing it 3 times and it still wasn't half way done, I gave up for when I get more things under control. So for the time being I'm reading Chalene Johnsons "Push" and I'm catching up on Supernatural when I can.

Trying to: Work on improving my time. Trying to run a business, work out, be there for my girls, clean my house, and prepare meals is a lot of work. I know I can do it all, I just need to be better about time management!! Its totally worth it though, trying to live my life by my design.

Wishing: For the rain to let up just a little. Yes, this rain has been so great for our lawns and our water supply and we are in very much need of it, but we need a weekend to go in the mountains, play outside, and do yard work!! Come on Utah. Just one weekend so we can get things done!!

Excited for: This coming Memorial Day weekend. Sam gets off early on Friday from his first job, and doesn't work that night at Litzas and he doesn't work Monday at DMBA so we get to have some quality time spent together!! Hooray!!

6th Anniversary

6 years. Wow. Its been 6 years since me and Sam were sealed for time and all eternity!! I waited so long to marry him! I knew 100% that I wanted to marry him at 18 years old. So waiting was brutal sometimes, but it was worth it.

I truly don't know how I was so lucky to get such an amazing man. Especially when I go back and read my old journal entries when we were dating. I was kinda a dramatic brat at times! But, he loved me anyway. And he still does many years later. Sometimes I still can't figure out why, but I know he does.

He works so hard for us so I can be home raising our daughters. He makes me feel pretty. He is the best daddy in the world. He makes me laugh and he makes me feel like I'm a really funny person. He listens to me complain, and encourages me when I talk to him about my hopes and dreams. And never once does he think my dreams are too big. Sometimes I really have to pinch myself to see if our life together is real.

This weekend has been amazing. My sister took our kids over-night (thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!) and we had a wonderful time. We talked more than we have in a long time, we saw a late movie, slept in til 9:30 (stayed in bed talking some more until 10:30) he made me Eggs Benedict (Oh yeah, he is an amazing cook) and then we talked some more. Its amazing how much you can talk about when darling little kids aren't interrupting!! :)

Happy 6th Anniversary Sam! You make my heart happy. I love you forever!!

Life Lately: The Best of April

April was a crazy, fun month. We fit a lot in!! Here is what our life was like in April.
Life lately has been my adorable girls loving on Jessi. Madalyn in particular LOVES dogs. She gets so excited when one is around. Life has been the girls playing in the pebbles at the elementary school. Its been a note and a gift card from my coach when I needed it most, and its been a cute little baby showing me her beautiful smile.
Life lately has been getting out of my shower to have Elsa, Anna, and Olaf staring at me. Its been a little troublemaker Madalyn sneaking gum from my purse that I accidentally left out. Life has been some beautiful flowers from my beautiful girl, and its been sisters playing in the yard together.
Life lately has been letting off some steam at the park after a particularly hard Saturday. Its been Sunday cuddle time with a very missed daddy. Its been a nice family walk in dress-ups and all, and life has been my favorite bag of Easter candy for .28 cents each. (I bought 4)
Life lately has been a HUGE April snowstorm in which we met our friends for some play time. And its been the most fun field trip ever to Smiths where Abby tried a Dragon fruit and got lots of other goodies. The Smiths guy, Bruce, was an awesome guide!
Life lately has been cute smiles. Its been hanging around the peaceful Temple grounds. Life has been going to Jungle Jims for a birthday party. Madalyn preferred staying by us trying on hats while Abby loved the rides.
Life has been being goofy with Sam. Its been riding our horses around the block. Life lately has been buying tickets for this summers Death Cab for Cutie concert, and its been the girls playing in our new piece of furniture.
Life lately has been my future clothing designer Abby making Anna a dress out of play dough. She did that all by herself, and it was pretty good with the cape and all. Life has been Madalyn getting to my parents remote and biting chunks out of it before I knew what she was doing. Life has been trying on old hats, and playing out in the rain with the best daddy ever.
Life lately has been trying chicken and waffles and loving every.single.bite. It was so, SO good. Life has been Madalyn playing in our new car while sister slept in the back. Did I mention we got a new car? Oh yeah. We did. (technically at the end of March) Her name is Rosie and she is a 2005 Honda Pilot. We love her and we look forward to the many family memories we will have in her. Life lately has been Madalyn dressed as Cinderella, and not being able to get up the stairs to me, and its been a fun date day with the Bae.
Finally, life lately has been spent soaking up the beautiful weather at the park. Its been capturing Abbys obsession with Madalyns ear once again on camera. Its been opening a bag of Doritos and having them explode on me, and its been Madalyn having free reign of the TV at Grammys house.

I really love my life. I'm fortunate to live it. I have beautiful girls, and wonderful husband. That's all a gal needs.
